Q1. What is the National Recruitment Agency (NRA)?

Ans. The Union Cabinet recently announced the creation of the National Recruitment Agency for conducting the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for various government exams.

Q2. What is the Common Eligibility Test (CET)?

Ans. Common Eligibility Test (CET) is a computer-based online exam that will initially screen candidates at the preliminary level for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), and Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). Students who will Qualify Common Eligibility Test will be eligible for the Mains Exam that will be conducted by SSC, IBPS, and RRB's themselves.

Q3.Why CET is being Implemented?

Ans. Around 2.5-3 crore aspirants sit for each of these examinations for government jobs or banking jobs every year. A CET would enable the candidates to appear once and apply to any or all of these recruitment agencies for the higher level of examination.

Q4. How many Levels of CET will be conducted?

Ans.  CET will be conducted separately at three levels viz. - Matriculate (10th), Intermediate (12th), and Graduation for non-technical posts of the three agencies.

Q5. Can a Graduation Level Student give CET of Intermediate Level?

Ans. Yes, a Graduate Student after applying specifically for Intermediate Level can give CET of Intermediate Level and so on.

Q6. How many CET will be conducted in a year?

Ans. CET will be conducted twice a year. There will be NO restrictions on the number of attempts to give the Common Eligibility Test (CET) subject to the upper age limit.

Q7. What is the Validity of the CET Score?

Ans. The CET Score will be valid for three years from the date of declaration of the results.

Q8. What if my Second CET score is less than my First CET score?

Ans. The best score of the candidate will be considered as the current score irrespective of fact which attempt's score is higher.

Q9. In how many Languages it will be conducted?

Ans. CET would be conducted in 12 languages, to begin with, and other languages will be added in the later phases.

Q10. What is the Syllabus & Exam Pattern of CET?

Ans. The curriculum for this test would be common as would be the standard. This would greatly ease the burden of candidates who are at present required to prepare for each of the examinations separately as per the different curriculum.

Q11. How CET will help Women in getting placed?

Ans. Women candidates especially from rural areas face constraints in appearing in multiple examinations as they have to arrange for transportation and places to stay in places that are far away.

Q12. Whether any Age Relaxation is being provided to SC,ST and OBC?

Ans. NRA will give relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC/Reserved Category candidates as per government policy.

Common Eligibility Test Matriculate (10th Pass) Recruitment 2021

National Recruitment Agency, NRA will be an autonomous society under Societies Act. It will have representatives from SSC, RRB, IBPS
• NRA will conduct Tier-I examination-Common Eligibility Test, CET
• CET will be online examination
• Every district will have atleast one exam centre

3. NRA will remove these pain points with a common admission test for the Tier I exam for multiple govt jobs
4. NRA will reduce burden on candidates as also on respective recruitment agencies

2. Mitigates hardships for candidates from appearing in multiple exams of multiple agencies with similar eligibility conditions
3. CET to be conducted at over 1000 centres, every District will have at least one exam centre, including the 117 aspirational districts
4. Better access to rural, underprivileged candidates and women

1. Initially, the NRA to conduct CET twice a year
2. Registration of applicants, generation of roll number/admit cards, display or marks, merit list, etc. will be done online
3. Bulk of the candidates will be screened out during CET
4. Medium of writing will be a multiple choice objective type question paper
5. Number of candidates appearing in the specialized exams will get reduced to nearly 5% of the total number of candidates

• Graduate
• Higher Secondary (12th)
• Matriculate (10th pass)
2. For non-technical posts. CET shall replace the Tier I exam held by SSC, Railway recruitment boards & Institute of Banking Personnel Selection
3. CET to shortlist candidates for Group B and C posts in Central government

1. Standard Curriculum & degree of difficulty; to be conducted in multiple Indian languages
2. Based on CET score, final selection to be made through separate specialised Tier 2/Tier 3 examinations conducted by respective recruitment agency
3. CET score of a candidate will be valid for 3 years, best available score during 3 years will be the current score
4. No restriction on number of attempts by the candidate, subject to upper age limit prescribed
5. Relaxation ¡n upper age limit to be given to candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PwDetc
