EXAM PATTERN


SSC CGL 2019 Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern of SSC CGL provides details of marking scheme, number of Tiers, number of sections of each Tier, total marks, exam timings and negative marking. The SSC CGL exam pattern 2019 has been deáned by Staff Selection Commission (SSC). According to SSC CGL 2019 exam pattern, the exam will comprise of four Tiers- Tier 1, 2, 3 & 4. The Tier 1 & 2 of SSC CGL will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) comprising of objective type questions from various sections. The Tier 3 of SSC CGL is a descriptive test to be conducted in pen and paper mode. The Tier IV of SSC CGL 2019 includes Computer Proáciency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Veriácation. The total marks allotted to Tier 1 exam is 200 marks. The SSC CGL Tier 2 exam will comprise of four Papers -Paper I, II, III & IV. The Paper I and II is common for all posts while Paper III & IV is for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer (AAO)/Assistant Accounts Officer (AAO). Each paper of Tier 2 will carry 200 marks. The Tier 3 as per SSC CGL paper pattern will be test in English/Hindi on writing Essays/Precie/Letter/Applications etc. The maximum marks allotted to the test is 100 marks. The SSC CGL Tier 4 is qualifying in nature. The questions of SSC CGL 2019 will be of Class 10/HSC, Class 12 and graduation level. 
 
Tier-II of the examination of SSC CGL would comprise four papers in total. Of these four papers, two papers i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II is compulsory for all the candidates. However, Paper III (Statistics) will be conducted for the post of Statistical Investigator (now known as Junior Statistical Ofácer) and Paper-IV (Finance and Accounts and Economics and Governance) is for the post of Assistant Audit Ofácer (AAO) in C &AG.

Each paper would be for duration of two hours. Paper-I would be on Quantitative Ability carrying 100 Questions of 200 marks.

Each question would carry two marks. Negative marks for each wrong answer would be 0.50 marks.
 
Paper-II will be on English Language and Comprehension carrying 200 Questions of 200 Marks. Each question would carry one mark. 0.25 marks would be deducted for each wrong answer. 
 
Paper-III would be on Statistics consisting of 100 Questions of 200 marks. This paper will be for those candidates who have applied for the post of Statistical Investigator. Each question would carry two marks. 0.50 marks would be deducted for each wrong answer.
 
Paper-IV will be for those candidates who have applied for the post of Assistant Audit Ofácer (AAO) in C&AG. 
 
The said paper would comprise of two parts i.e., Finance and Accounts for which there would be 40 questions carrying 80 marks and Economics and Governance will have 60 questions carrying 120 marks. In all there will be 100 questions carrying 200 Marks with each question carrying two marks. 0.50 marks would be deducted for each wrong answer. The paper will be for a duration of two hours.
