EPFO SSA
Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has released a notification for the post of Social Security Assistant (SSA) to invite online applications from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment to the post of Social Security Assistant in EPFO. The organization has released over 2,000 vacancies (expected) for the position of Social Security Assistants for the year 2026. The EPFO is a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, which manages the provident fund, pension, and insurance schemes for employees in India. The Social Security Assistant (SSA) is an entry-level position in the EPFO, and the notification has been released for the recruitment of candidates for this position.

Education Qualifications
To apply for the post of EPFO SSA, here are the essential education qualifications:
- A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university as on the closing date for online registration of application.
- A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer. (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 Key Depression per Hour (KDPH) / 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word for Data Entry Work.
Candidates awaiting the results of the final examination of the prescribed Essential qualification SHOULD NOT APPLY.
Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either –
I. A Citizen of India or
II. A subject of Nepal or
III. A subject of Bhutan or
IV. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
V. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

EPFO SSA Pay Scale
The Social Security Assistants at EPFO shall be eligible to receive Level-5 (Rs.29, 200-92,300) in the Pay Matrix. In addition to Pay they will also be eligible for allowances as per rules in force from time to time.)
How to Apply
Step-1: Register for Online Registration using your own Email ID and Mobile No. and note down the system-generated Registration Number.
Step-2: Complete the Online Application Form and note down the system-generated Registration Number.
Step-3: Upload legible scanned images of:
I. a recent photograph (in jpg/ jpeg file, size 10Kb–200Kb);
II. candidate’s signature (file size: 4kb-30kb);
III. Left hand thumb impression (file size:10kb- 200kb);
Step-4: Pay the prescribed fee online through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card (There is no provision for payment through e-challan/cash.

EXAM PATTERN
EPFO SSA Examination Pattern
The selection of Social Security Assistants at EPFO would be done through a two-tiered process:- Phase-I Examination (Computer-Based Exam - 600 Marks)
- Phase II-Computer Skill Test (Computer Data Entry Test)
Phase-I Examination
- Each question would carry 4 marks. There would be a total of 150 questions in 5 sections.
- The marks obtained in Phase–I will be considered for final selection on merit.
- For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question.
- *English comprehension shall be objective.
- A composite time of 2 hours and 30 minutes would be given for the exam. There would be no sectional time limit for any individual section.
- The candidates will be shortlisted for Phase-II in the ratio of 1:10 i.e. about 10 times the number of vacancies in each category on the basis of their performance in Phase-I.
- If the examination is held in more than one session, the scores across various sessions will be equated following standard practice to adjust for slight differences in the difficulty level of different test batteries used across sessions.
- Qualifying Marks in Phase–I (Main Exam) will be decided as per discretion of EPFO.

Phase II-Computer Skill Test (Computer Data Entry Test)
- Candidates who successfully qualify the phase-I will be required to appear for the Skill Test to assess speed and accuracy for Data Entry Work.
- A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer. (35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 Key Depression Per Hour (KDPH) / 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word for Data Entry Work.
- Computer Skill Test will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained will not be reckoned for merit ranking.
Resolution Of Tie Cases
In cases where more than one candidate secures equal aggregates marks in Phase-I, the tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:
- Date of Birth, with older candidates, placed higher.
- Alphabetical order in which the names of the candidates appear.

EPFO SSA Previous Year’s Cutoff
