Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is soon going to announce the recruitment drive for Probationary Officers for the year 2017. The IBPS PO 2017 is scheduled to be conducted for recruitment of an undisclosed number of candidates. The exam of IBPS PO 2017 to be held in online mode two phases – Preliminary and Mains. The Preliminary exam of IBPS PO 2017 is scheduled to be held in multiple sessions on October 7, 8, 14 & 15.

Candidates who will qualify in IBPS PO 2017 preliminary exam will be shortlisted to appear for mains exam and candidates who will qualify the mains will be subsequently called for a personal interview or PI.

Candidates who are Graduate in any stream and between 21 and 30 years of age as on September, 2017 are eligible to fill the application form of IBPS PO 2017.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2017

Candidates applying for IBPS PO 2017 exam should fulfill the necessary eligibility criteria as per Nationality, Age and Educational Qualification.

Nationality: Only Indian Citizens can only apply.

Age Limit: Candidates should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years as on September, 2017.

Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the final year/semester of their graduation can also apply.

Emoluments and Salary Structure:

In addition to Basic Pay, bank officers (i.e. Probationary Officers / PO / Management Trainees) are eligible for the following allowances –
 
Dearness Allowance (DA) – It is a cost of living adjustment allowance paid to all govt and public sector Probationary officers. It is revised on a quarterly basis and based on Consumer Price Index (CPI). Calculation of DA depends on inflation. DA can go up with higher inflation and also come down if the inflation rate is in negative.
 
HRA – This depends on the place of posting, and it can be either 9.0% or 8.0% or 7.0% depending on the place of posting.
 
Special Allowance – This will add in 10th BPS (wef. 01/11/2012) and for Scale, I 7.75% on which DA is also payable
 
CCA – This also depends on the place of posting and can be either 4% (maximum Rs.870/-) or 3%(Maximum Rs.600/-) or 0%
 
Conveyance allowance – It is paid for commuting between home and office.

IBPS PO 2017 Selection Procedure

IBPS PO selection procedure has 3 steps which is mention below:

Step 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) (100 Marks)
Step 2: Main Examination (Objective Type – 200 Marks)
Step 3: Interview (50 Marks)
IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2017
 
IBPS PO Mains Exam has encountered quite a number of changes. Let’s have a look at all these changes in detail.
 
Introduction of Descriptive Paper: Just like SBI PO 2017 Exam, IBPS introduced Descriptive Paper in its Mains Examination where candidates will be judged on their written skills. An essay and a letter will be given to candidates to write that will constitute of 25 marks and that has to be completed in a time span of 30 minutes.
 
The overall time allotted for each section has also been changed.
 
No separate paper will be conducted for Computer Applications. Reasoning is teamed up with Computer Aptitude section and this entire section will contain 45 questions of a total of 60 marks.
 
The overall time allotted for IBPS PO 2017 Mains Exam has also been changed from 140 minutes to 180 minutes.
