Tips to Prepare Quantitative Aptitude for SBI Clerk 2021
Quantitative Aptitude may appear to be a very complex subject for the candidates however it is the easiest section amongst all other sections in the SBI Clerk exam. The reason for this rising complexity for this subject is the wrong approach by the candidates for any particular questions. Check out the major tips that help in preparing the Quantitative Aptitude section for SBI Junior Associate from the space below.
Clear Your Basics
The first thing that a candidate is required to do is clearing the basic concepts for each chapter. Remember, a strong foundation will help in tackling each type of question in the examination. SBI is known to play with the level of questions and it never asks direct questions; rather the questions based on the application of each chapter can be seen in the Preliminary and Mains exam. Hence, first, try to develop the basic concept of each chapter that you find has more weightage in the exam i.e. SI and CI, Boat and Streams, Train and Distance, Profit and Loss are few chapters.
Develop Short Tricks
As mentioned earlier, the candidates only get 20 minutes to complete the SBI Clerk preliminary exam. This implies that the candidates have to spend only 30-40 seconds on each section if they wish to attempt 25+ questions out of 35 in the exam. Is that possible? If you apply your own short tricks for each chapter then you can attempt 30+ questions in the allotted time. For that try to develop short tricks, do calculations mentally, apply direct formulas, etc. Questions based on Simplifications, Quadratic equations, Percentages can be easily mastered through short tricks.
Indulge in Intensive Practice
Practicing makes a candidate friendly to the subject as well as the topics. Another benefit of practice is that with subsequent practice a candidate develops the basic knowledge of how to tackle a particular question in the SBI Clerk exam. Hence, the candidate should indulge in intensive practice and can use books, guides, previous year papers, and question banks developed by experts of Smartkeeda.
New Pattern Questions
SBI is very unpredictable and it has been evident from the previous year’s exams of SBI Clerk. It keeps on introducing new pattern questions every year that may look like they are tough, however, the student’s panics and does not try to go with the flow. This has to be overcome if you wish to work as Junior Associate in SBI. For doing this, follow youtube channels, online resources, and practice a lot using them. The youtube channel of Smartkeeda provided the candidates with the latest questions based on different chapters.
In this way, the candidates can prepare their minds to face surprises before going for the exam. Also, it is our advice to avoid skipping new pattern questions in a go rather than just read them properly and give them a try, they are easy to solve. It's just the correct approach that works on these kinds of questions.

Analyze your Approach
One of the most important things that the candidates fail to do during their preparation days is keeping a check on their preparations. Take for example while solving a question based on percentage i.e. 25% of 640 if we try to multiply 25X 64 and then divide it by 100 then it is an older way to do it and is time-consuming too. However, if we take 25/100 as ¼ of 640 then we can find the answer as 160 in less time. This is what a different approach does to a candidate’s performance in the examination. Hence, the candidates should always try to develop a fine approach and that is possible only with consistent practice.
